I am a licensed psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist who provides therapy and evaluation services to children, adolescents and young adults. I believe that when working with children and adolescents, flexibility and adaptability are key components of a successful therapeutic relationship. In many ways, therapy can be an art form. Finding the evidence-based approach and skills that resonate best with my client will set them on a path toward growth and success. As a result, I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to assist individuals and families in meeting their goals.

I coach parents on the skills your child/teen is learning so that families may better support one another at home. When needed, we will create a behavior plan and/or a positive reward program for you to use at home.

As a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, I have worked in the public schools and can provide knowledgeable, school-based recommendations regarding accommodations and supports. I also provide coaching to my clients on topics such as organization and study skills. Having worked in disability services at a collegiate level, I am uniquely qualified to provide evaluations to determine if your child qualifies for support after high school. I understand what documentation schools are looking for and what supports your child might qualify for.

After working in the schools, I decided I wanted to learn more to better serve clients and families. Since that time, I have worked in residential treatment centers, private practice, and a partial hospitalization program. Most recently, I spent two years working at the University of Utah’s Huntsman Mental Health Institute, primarily on inpatient units for children and adolescents. There, I conducted individual and family therapy, as well as evaluations for children and adolescents in crisis. My goal when conducting assessments is to help the client become better aware of their strengths so that they may use them to effectively compensate for their weaknesses.

I have a direct, straight-forward approach. Honesty and transparency are key components of my therapeutic style. I can also be light-hearted and love to laugh with my clients.
