Brittany Keim, MS
I am a mental health counselor who works with children, teenagers, couples and families in outpatient and school settings. I have a Master’s degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Mental Health Counseling. I am currently completing my remaining supervised hours needed to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I work with many different mental health issues and I specialize in implementing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) interventions with individuals affected by anxiety and related concerns such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
My approach to treatment is a balance of being supportive, collaborative, and action-based. I believe that it is important to create a safe and inclusive space, where we can work together to discuss challenges and to establish goals to facilitate positive change. So many individuals are affected by mental health concerns today. I am particularly passionate about working with school-aged children, providing age-appropriate information and active skill-building that will not only assist them in their current journey, but may also be applied to future obstacles and challenges that they may encounter. When working with children and adolescents, I believe that it is very important to work with their family and educational system to incorporate appropriate supports or accommodations so that treatment outcomes can be maximized.
I think it is important to engage in self-care and take care of yourself. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and walking in the park, traveling, and decorating my new home.
