Anastasia J. Checchio, M.S.

Hello there! I am a 4th-year doctoral student studying clinical psychology at Chestnut Hill College. In my clinical experience thus far, I have provided psychotherapy intervention and psychological assessment to individuals and families across the lifespan with various presenting concerns. These include neurodevelopmental disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, brain injury, personality disorders, substance-related and addictive disorders.

Through these experiences, I have developed a passion for working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Being a kid is often challenging, especially in today’s ever-changing world. In my practice, I seek to work collaboratively with children, teens, and their families to effectively navigate the biological, cognitive, emotional, and social changes associated with growing up. My clinical goal is to support young people to find their voice, become more self-confident, and communicate in a way that expresses their needs.

I am also passionate about supporting women and young girls. Through self-compassion and empowerment, I aim to help each individual find their voice, recognize their self-worth, and rise above societal pressures and norms. I have a special commitment to nurturing women and girls through puberty, their sexual health, and their pregnancy/postpartum journeys.

To achieve therapeutic growth, I provide individual and family services that are strength-based and are rooted in psychodynamic, person-centered, and evidence-based approaches. Through openness, humor, and warmth, I aim to foster a supportive, trusting, and safe environment for my clients to explore and grow in the areas they choose.
In my free time, I enjoy gardening, beading, and refinishing furniture. I also recently adopted a snowshoe kitten named Sven!
